Who is shaping your life? Every day, voices from friends, family, social media, entertainment, and culture compete for your attention and influence the direction of your life. Every day we are shaped by the voices we listen to and the paths we choose. In this message from Proverbs 1 and 4, Pastor Chris Teien explains how God's wisdom helps us recognize wise influences, reject harmful ones, and guard our hearts as we follow Christ.

God's wisdom provides the discernment we need to navigate a world filled with competing voices. As we seek godly counsel, avoid destructive influences, choose the right path, and guard our hearts, we become faithful leaders who influence others for Christ.

In This Message:

1. Listen to Wise Voices

God has provided His Word, faithful believers, and godly examples to guide our lives. Wise people remain teachable, seek biblical counsel, and learn from those who faithfully follow Christ. (Romans 15:4; Proverbs 1:8; 12:15; 13:20)

2. Avoid Harmful Influences

Sin often appears attractive, but it always leads away from God's best. Believers are called to reject sinful pressure, refuse compromise, and avoid the path that leads to destruction. (Proverbs 1:10-19)

3. Choose the Right Path

Our daily decisions determine the direction of our lives. God's wisdom calls us to walk in righteousness, remain faithful through ordinary choices, and encourage others to follow Christ. (Proverbs 4:10-19)

4. Guard Your Heart

The condition of our hearts shapes our words, actions, and direction in life. By filling our hearts with God's truth and focusing on Christ, we are equipped to live wisely and faithfully. (Proverbs 4:20-27)

Takeaway

Choose God's wisdom over the competing voices of the world. Listen to godly counsel, avoid harmful influences, guard your heart, and faithfully follow the path Christ has set before you.
